Sighetul Marmației – a city at the North border of Romania, in the Maramureș county, close to Europe’s second largest Oak forest, was the place where Aviva’s founders decided in 1999 to begin it’s story.
The county is well known for its beautiful and picturesque lands has a long tradition in woodwork because of its wast secular forests. It is an area with a lot of wood, with a tradition in processing. In addition, the factory is close to the western border, which facilitates export.
Today, after 23 years, Aviva is the biggest employer in the area, employing over 2000 people and striving also in making a difference in the local community.
